Colors for your features
By the Skintonic team · SKINTONIC LLC · Updated
Most people do not know their color type and do know what they look like. These 19 pages start from the second thing: pale skin, red hair, hazel eyes, going gray. Each one says which of the twelve types that feature most often turns out to be, and shows the colors for each of them.
The numbers on these pages are not borrowed from anywhere. For each feature, every combination of skin, eyes and hair containing it is put through the same analysis the scan runs — usually over a thousand of them — and what the pages report is the distribution that comes back. That is also why none of them claims a single answer: no one feature produces one.

Skin tone
Depth is a reading, not a palette. Each page runs the analysis over every combination containing that skin tone and reports which types actually come back.
- Colors for fair skin Also covers pale skin and light skin.
- Colors for medium skin Also covers tan skin.
- Colors for olive skin Also covers green-leaning skin.
- Colors for brown skin Also covers medium-deep skin.
- Colors for deep skin Also covers dark skin and rich deep skin tones.
Undertone
The axis that rules things out rather than in. One page per direction, each split by the depth that decides what is left.
Hair color
Hair sets depth and, with skin, contrast. These pages also say plainly what dye does to a result, which is more than most advice manages.
- Colors for blonde hair
- Colors for red hair Also covers auburn hair.
- Colors for brown hair Also covers brunette hair.
- Colors for black hair
- Colors for gray hair Also covers silver hair and white hair.
Eye color
A separate question from your palette: which shades make an iris read brighter, and which deepen it instead, computed from its measured hue.
- Colors that make blue eyes pop
- Colors that make green eyes pop
- Colors that make brown eyes pop
- Colors that make hazel eyes pop
Combinations
Two features pinned at once, which narrows the shortlist considerably without closing it.
The honest summary
A feature narrows the field and never closes it. Skin depth, hair color and eye color between them pin down roughly two of the four readings; undertone and chroma are what remain, and they are the two hardest to judge in a mirror. Which is the whole argument for measuring them instead.
Your exact palette depends on all four. One photo, about thirty seconds, read in your browser and never uploaded.
